Match Report: Downingtown Defeats North Penn 46-0
The Downingtown Lady Dingoes improved to 3-0 on Sunday 3/27 defeating North Penn by a score of 46-0. Dtown played their best game of the season, displaying impressive teamwork, hustle, and hard hitting.
The Downingtown forwards kept possession of the ball nearly the entire game with strong tackling led by Arden Blumenthal and Annaliese Zlogar. The dingos' forward play dominated in the ruck, scrum, and lineouts with strong performances from Courtney DeFelice and Darci Bryant. Blind-side flanker, Alex Lawson ended the first half by blocking the opposing #9's attempted box kick and then fell on it in the try zone for a very exciting try.
Downingtown's offense kept North Penn on their heels most of the game, moving the ball with strong moves and sure passing. Mary Cate Matta led the line from flyhalf with tough runs and skilled kicks. Megan Hayn moved to inside center and performed very well.
The dingoes hope to keep the momentum of the season going as the will face off with Conestoga this week.
