The D.R.F.C. Lady Dingoes consist of players from Downingtown High School East and Downingtown High School West. They compete in the U19 age bracket of the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union and field both an A-side and a B-side.

The stage is set for what appears to be an unbelievable weekend of top-level championship rugby out in Stanford California. The Downingtown girls have been invited to the 2012 USA Rugby National Invitational Tournament to compete against 7 of the best rugby programs in the country. Their first round match up pits them against Wisconsin’s Divine Savior Holy Angels on Saturday, where the winner of the match will face the winner of the Kent (Washington) and Lakewood (Ohio) matchup. The Lady Dingoes traveled out to Bel Air Maryland this past Sunday for a clash with the North Bay Rugby Club. The match would be played to decide this season’s champion of the EPRU Central Division. Both clubs entered the match undefeated, and both teams wanted nothing more than to leave the match a division champion. This year’s “Battle for the Brandywine” ended up looking as if both teams had gone swimming in the river instead of playing rugby yesterday. Soggy conditions and driving rain were the order of the day as Downingtown kicked off against divisional rival Unionville. The rain never seemed to slow, and the players on both sides were forced to make slippery tackles all day long. Another Big Win for U-19 Girls!

This past Sunday, the U-19 girls took the field against Media United in a hard-fought league match at home. It has been almost a month since the girls have had the chance to play in front of their own crowd, and it seemed to be worth the wait. The girls did not disappoint the fans, winning yet another match in impressive fashion with a final score of 49-0. The season of nothing but league shutouts continued with the girls playing absolutely dominating defense, while they worked as a unit. . . Read More

The U-19 girls undefeated, all-shutout season continued on Sunday with a league showdown against nearby Conestoga Rugby Club at Valley Forge Middle School on Sunday. The girls jumped out to an early lead, scoring 6 minutes into the match, then never looked back. Team highlights were superb rucking, and a number of incredible offloads that switched the direction of play and provided the team with even more space to run and score.
