Day 4 - 4/19/2011

We met for breakfast this morning at 8:30 am and were to depart by 9:30 for Oxford. Head count brought us 2 shy of our normal full load so we didn't leave till 10 after figuring out who was missing and what room to find them. It cost them 2 pounds each in fines and we were on our way.

Oxford was super busy, old and enjoyable. We arrived about noon and had to be back to the bus by 4 to head on to London. We walked around the Christ Church, toured the Bear and the Trinity College, did a little shopping and the tour of Oxford was over.

We arrived at our final hotel in London City at 6pm, located our rooms and met in the lobby at 6:30 for a short walk to dinner. When we arrived at dinner we were told that our arrangements were for Thursday night not Wednesday. They were super accommodating and fed us burgers, chips and dessert and it was good. When departing the restaurant we bumped into our Coach driver who did not dine with us, but did informed us we had eaten in the wrong place. What? We are American tourists...

It was only 8:30pm so we decided to go on an adventure...the tube would be a great adventure right? OH it was - we learned it is about teamwork to get 33 people on and off the same train at the same stops! We saw the London Tower and the Tower bridge - just far enough away but not too far.

Tim was able to do the trip on his crutches. He is also able to put weight on his leg today and walk straight but twisting is still not a good thing. We have got a wheelchair for our tours, that will be easier for him.

Tomorrow we have a ½ day tour of the city and the afternoon free. I have to mention the weather - sunny and 60 - 65 degrees out since we have been here. Tomorrow sunny with a high of 70. I for one didn't pack right for this trip.
