[Alison was unable to post this yesterday, as the site was down.]
Good Evening All: 4/17/2011 11pm
Day 2 - The sun was shining and it was sweatshirt to long sleeve shirt warm all day. We traveled to Cardiff in Wales, about 1 ¼ hours, and were hosted by the Penallta RFC. Their boys were the same age as our boys and very talented. Our Dingoes played a fantastic game and delivered a truly challenging match. The final score was 43 - 17.
The game was over around 2:45pm and in true rugby tradition the after game social was one of the best I have attended. Again, when challenged, our boys held their own. Some of you parents will be happy to hear that our guys were not as capable as some of their guys in the after game activities either.
We were late returning to the Hotel for dinner but Matthew, the S&E tour director was brilliant enough to call ahead to tell them to hold dinner. We finally gathered for dinner about 8pm. Everyone is exhausted and all we did all day was eat, play, and drink!
For those of you who toured Wales, Shawn Connery made a special appearance on the bus this evening with his rendition of "Sweet Caroline". Being such a catchy tone everyone joined in to complete the song properly. Our boys are a marvel...
Tomorrow breakfast is scheduled for 7:30am, gather at the coach at 8:30am with all belongings and be on the way by 8:45 - 9. We travel back to bath REC for a 10am training, free time in Bristol and ending in Basingstoke for the night. Sounds like another great adventure.
Until tomorrow,
Alison
