U19 Boys - 2012 Season

2012 u19 boysThe U19 Dingoes consist of players from Downingtown High School East,  Downingtown High School West, and the Downingtown S.T.E.M. Academy.

Since the team draws from more than a single school, they compete in the U19 (club) bracket of the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union (EPRU).

This year the U19 Boys will be fielding both an A and a B side team.

Win key EPRU Division I South match-up!

West Chester, PA In another game of dominance, Downingtown U-19 Boys won 61-5 over West Chester on the road where the outcome was clear about 10 minutes into the game. Downingtown scored the first 56 points and at that point West Chester rarely even held the ball. Thereafter, the Dingoes rested most starters and took the easy win as the state playoffs will start on May 13, 2012.

U19 Dingoes Defeat Conestoga 21-0

On Thursday May 3, 2012, Downingtown U-19 remained undefeated and shut-out Conestoga 21-0 at Conestoga's home field.

Conestoga presented a skilled team and played the Dingoes tough. Downingtown's defense was stretched but did not break and the Dingoes had another shut out. Eric Lucci started the scoring with a try after a battle in front of the try line and he picked up the ball and put it down for a try. Sam Panetti made the conversion and Downingtown led 7-0.

U19 Boys Dominate Blackthorn

The Dingoes defeated Blackthorn 46-0 this past Sunday in a physical (and sometimes chippy) match.

Blackthorn (EPRU Division I North) came in 2-0 with a definate size advantage at a number of key positions. From the outset, though, Downingtown established an intense pace and controlled virtually every aspect of the game.

U19 Boys manhandle Media 89-0!


Bridgeport, PA   In steady rain and muddy conditions this past Sunday (4/22), the U-19 Boys annihilated the Media Wolfpack 89-0. The win at Media's Chicino Field was the Dingoes' second straight shutout and first unforfeited win in the EPRU Division I South. The team's overall record is 4-0.

Dingoes Defeat South Jersey 80-0

The Dingoes won on forfeit as South Jersey was short on players. For a practice scrimmage the U-19 Boys traveled to Voorhees, New Jersey and provided 4 players to South Jersey so the teams could hold a scrimmage. Downingtown dominated the scrimmage and won 80-0 over South Jersey. Joe Erdman led the way with four trys and long runs that displayed his speed and quickness.
