2011 Season

2011_junior_dingoesThe Junior Dingoes consist of players from Downingtown High School West (under 15), Downingtown High School East (under 15), Downingtown Middle School and Lionville Middle School. They field U15 and U13 teams, and compete with other rugby clubs in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

U-15 Dingoes finish off the 2011 season by winning the Jersey Cup

The Dingoes completed what has been a remarkable season taking home the Jersey Cup after beating teams from New York, Virginia and Connecticut in a wonderful display of Dingo rugby, scoring 71 points for vs. 10 points against in 90 minutes of rugby on a cool, misty day in Boonton Township, NJ.

Match Report: Dingoes defeat Cumberland Valley 28-21

In a showdown of undefeated teams, Downingtown defeated Cumberland Valley to finish a perfect 6-0, scoring 314 points for and only 33 points against this season.  Both sides started strong, testing each other defenses in the first 5 minutes. Match Report U15 Dingoes defeat Warwick 77-0

Downingtown U-15 continued its winning streak with a dominating performance over Warwick U-15 defeating the swarm 77-0.  From the first kick-off, the Dingoes played its southern hemisphere rugby style with a fast counter ruck that won the ball and quick passing  between forwards and backs in a flowing move that  finished with 15 meter maul by the pack supporting second row Jason Gibson who grounded the ball once they were over the try line.  Panetti converted giving. . . Match Report - U15s Defeat Unionville 47-0

On a perfect day for rugby, the Junior Dingoes put on a superlative performance to defeat league rivals Unionville 47-0 improving their league record to 2-0. Despite have 3 starters out, the restructured pack was able to provide good ball for the wing to demonstrate their skills. Alek Althouse started his first game as hooker and didn’t lose a single strike in the scrum in the first half – a phenomenal performance.

U15 Dingoes defeat TE Tigers 52-5

Downingtown U-15 racked up their 5th win of the 2011 season by defeating TE Tigers 52-5 in another dominating performance of Dingo open style rugby.  From the first kick off, the Dingo pack went to work tackling and rucking the Tigers off the ball and driving to the opponent’s line.   Scrum half and Captain Nick Pagel passed to fly half Rory McNichol who offloaded the ball 10 meters out to inside center Matt Bokowitz for his first try 2 minutes into the game.  Full back Sam. . . U13 Dingoes score their first win against Doylestown 10-0

The U13 Dingoes notched their first win of the season beating Doylestown 10-0 in a tight and highly competitive game.  This was the first game where the Dingoes played without on field coaching and aptly demonstrated their rapidly increasing knowledge of the game.  Max Brown played his first contact game and showed his rugby skills by creating the first try for Jude McDowell by rucking the Doylestown defender off the ball and scoring the second try by grounding the ball after a. . . U-15 vs State College

On Sunday 3/20/11, State College made it's first, of hopefully, many trips to Hickory Park.  As a newly formed club, they did not have enough players for a full side.  We played two - twenty minute halves of a 10 v 10 exhibition match.   The junior dingos put on a fabulous display of rugby, winning 48-0.  The DRFC U15 boys showed amazing individual skills and team play.   The following players scored tries or conversions.
